Digital Credential Services

In cooperation with the ITS Accounts Services Office handles Penn State Access Accounts and Short Term Access Accounts, conducts audits to ensure proper policy management, and problem mitigation such as forgotten passwords, account duplication, and issues with billing for student printing and other for-fee services.

Enabling Technologies Group

The Enabling Technologies Group is responsible for the systems administration of Solaris, Linux, Windows and other systems operated or managed by AIT, including the Solaris UNIX Cluster (cbs), PASS Gateway servers (Samba, cNFS), PHP and CGI script services, Kerberos V deployment and maintenance, and the Microsoft Windows Active Directory and Windows Update services.

Networking and Advanced Systems

Networking and Advanced Systems designs, installs, and manages the servers that support Penn State's primary computing facilities.

Software Engineering Solutions

Formed in 2004, Software Engineering Solutions is responsible for the design, development, and administration of database and authentication and authorization solutions for digital identity management.

University Collaboration Suite Group

The University Communications Services (UCS) group is responsible for running the Zimbra Collaboration Suite systems and service at Penn State. UCS provides E-mail, Calendaring, Contacts, Tasks, and a file storage Briefcase in easy to use web and desktop clients.
