Co-Location
COLO was created to meet the University's demand for a machine room's environmental conditions: raised floor, conditioned air, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), and secured physical access. Since a number of systems throughout the University had been housed in unsuitable environments, as of March 12th 2007, the COLO is now filled to capacity. Once space becomes available, this site will be updated accordingly.
Machines from various academic units throughout Penn State are currently housed in the co-location center. To apply for COLO space, you must be a Penn State faculty or staff member with an active Penn State Access Account and a Charge Account. The fee for this service is based on the amount of resources one needs and consumes, such as the volume of space, network connections, and power connections. If you are granted space, you may access the COLO at any time with your Penn State ID+ Card. For more information on this service, including how to request space, please contact colo@psu.edu. For forms, please visit the ITS Accounts Office.
